November 04, 2021【Academy of Preparatory Programs for Overseas Chinese Students X Education Think Tank- New Book Launch】

The Academy of Preparatory Programs for Overseas Chinese Students (hereinafter referred to as the Academy) has held six overseas Chinese research forums since 2014, with the expectation that the academic exchange and stimulation during the meetings will expand the research content and scope of Overseas Chinese Students’ education. In addition to the symposiums, the papers presented at the conference were evaluated by a rigorous external peer review, reviewed by editorial board members, and carefully screened by subject experts before being selected for the first to fourth volumes of the Overseas Chinese research monograph.

On November 4, 2021, at 8:40 a.m., the Academy held the “Studies of Strategies and Teaching for Overseas Chinese: Volume IV” book lauch conference, which coincided with the Academy’s “2021 Asian Youth Education Development Forum – Seminar on Digital Learning in the Post-Pandemic Era. Professor Kuo-En Chang, Vice President Song Yao-Ting, Vice President Yung-hsiang Frank were invited. Before the conference, the faculty members were invited to sign the poster of the new book, which not only witnessed the launch of the new book, but also symbolized NTNU’s rich teaching power accumulated over the years in the field of education for Overseas Chinese Students.

The project principal investigator, Director Chen-Hsing Lin, presented the research results of Overseas Chinese Students Education in recent years at the book launch. In addition to refining the teaching principles of Overseas Chinese Students Education, the Academy has also continued to strengthen the teaching and life counseling of Overseas Chinese Students, and has organized a number of international seminars on Overseas Chinese Students Education. In addition to strengthening the teaching principles of Overseas Chinese Students Education and life counseling, we have organized a number of international seminars on Overseas Chinese Students Education, inviting many scholars, experts and teachers with experience in Overseas Chinese Students Education to discuss and interact with each other to promote the academic development of Overseas Chinese Students Education.

This series of books aims to raise the level of empirical research on quality education for overseas Chinese students. This series of books aims to improve the quality of empirical research on the Overseas Chinese Students Education, the design of teaching and learning and the reflection on teaching and learning for Overseas Chinese Students, and to make learning twice as effective as it could be. The research results are expected to serve as a legacy and contribution to the education of Overseas Chinese Students in Taiwan. Finally, Director Lin mentioned that the next volume will be more diverse and enriched, and will be extended to other Overseas Chinese Students Education-related research contents to explore more deeply and open up different perspectives of Overseas Chinese Students Education research.

On November 4, 2021, at 15:30, the Academy invited the authors of the volume IV to visit the Lin Kou campus, where they were presented with a certificate of publication. Prof. Ming-Derg Lai (emeritus professor of the Department of Teaching Chinese as a Second Language, Chung Yuan Christian University), the former class director of the Academy, presented the publication certificate to the author of the book. The book was also published by Assistant Professor Jia-Ling Chen (of the Department of Teaching Chinese as a Second Language department and Division Head of Admissions and Alumni Services of this Academy, and the author of the Overseas Chinese Students Education research volume I to IV with a total of six articles published), on behalf of the teachers, explained the series of books from Overseas Chinese Students Education research, strategy, practice and development to the forth volume of the design and reflection process. The conference ended in the warmth and the applause of the audience.
