The Center for Educational Research and Innovation (CERI) is one of the University’s seven university-level centers. In 2009, the Center for Educational Research merged with the Center for Educational Evaluation and Development and was renamed the Center for Educational Research and Innovation in 2021.<\/span><\/p>

\u00a0<\/span>“The Center for Educational Research (CER) was founded in 1990 as an early pioneer in the study of education in mainland China, focusing on education policy, education system, and curriculum in mainland China. Since 1996, the Center has been involved in various and diverse fields of educational research, regularly organizing international seminars, and continuing to focus on the field of secondary education, mainly on the revision of vocational school curricula. Since 2000, the Center has been the designated institution of the Ministry of Education for technical and vocational curriculum research, and has been conducting research on the revision of curriculum standards for general high schools, elementary and secondary schools, as well as initiating various educational assessment projects. Through the joint efforts of the Center’s researchers, we have accumulated a wealth of excellent research results, which have almost witnessed the development of education in Taiwan over the past decades.<\/span><\/span><\/p>

\u00a0<\/span>The Center for Educational Evaluation and Development was established in March 2006 as a top research center funded by the Ministry of Education’s ” Fifty Billion Within Five Years”. It has been assisting the government in building a number of national long-term tracking databases, such as the Taiwan Higher Education Integration Database, the Teacher-Student Database, and the Long-Term Tracking Database of Post-Secondary Education.<\/span><\/span><\/p>

In 2008, the two centers were merged to form the Center for Educational Research and Evaluation (CERE), which is a top-tier university-level research center, in order to integrate the related research resources and manpower of the university, and the funding is self-sufficient according to the establishment and management regulations of the university centers. In recent years, CERE has been promoting international cooperation and exchange activities, such as MOST-BFT ORCHID, Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER), and the International Civic and Citizenship Education Study (ICCS). Citizenship Education Study), and deepening domestic research, focusing on rural and disadvantaged education issues, and collaborating with private enterprises and foundations to promote educational improvement programs for the disadvantaged. As the number of research projects in the Center continues to grow and diversify, the main axes of CERE’s research areas have been developed since 2014, including (1) educational surveys and the development and application of database (2) educational research for the disadvantaged (3) educational evaluation research (4) school improvement research.<\/span><\/p>

The name of CERE will be changed to “the Centre for Educational Research and Innovation” in 2021, representing a revision of the direction of CERI’s development. Based on the university’s missions, vision and goals, CERI proposes three key strategic objectives:<\/span><\/p>

In summary, the future direction of CERI, in addition to continuing the existing business operations of the center, also incorporates the key objectives of the university’s development, focusing on future-oriented and forward-looking development, and creating an academic platform that can continuously stimulate educational research and innovation.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
